Outstanding Management Academician Award
Instituted by Guruvayurappan Institute of Management at coimbatore, the reward is to recognize and encourage quality teaching and research in the field of Management education in the country. Given once in every four year, the award carries a Citation Memento and two lakhs rupees in cash, selected by a ream of veterans from nominations made by vice –chancellors, Professors, Directors of Management Institutions, recipients of national awards, research workers, captains of industry and past students(alumni).
The candidate should be a recognized expert in management education associated by the UGC,AICTE and other All India Bodies of Academics/Organizations/Associations in their expert and special committees. Further, he /she should be an eminent and successful personality who has made a mark in his/her chosen area. Age limit of potential candidates for the award is 62 years as on 30th June 2008. Nominations should be made in the prescribed proforma. Self nominations are not acceptable.
Last date of receipt of nominations for the Award is 31 March 2009. The Award presentation ceremony will be held
towards the end of 2009.
Awards and Scholarships
- Scholarships are awarded to students in the first and the second year based on their performance in the university examinations.
- Five scholarships will be awarded to the top 5 students who pass out the first year university examination subject to the condition that they should have passed all the papers in the very first appearance (no repeat allowed) and have a score of minimum of 65 % in aggregate
(first and second semesters taken together). The amount of scholarship is Rs.5000/-. - Another 5 scholarships are awarded to five toppers of university examination in the final MBA examination (all the four semesters put together) subject to the condition that they should have passed all the papers in the very first appearance (no repeat allowed) and have a score of minimum of 65 % in aggregate (all the four semesters taken together). The amount of scholarship is Rs.5000/-
- In addition to the above, a Gold Medal is presented to the first rank holder of GIM in the final MBA examination. This gold medal is instituted by Prof. Dr. M. V. Pylee, Chairman, Governing Council, GIM.
- A Gold medal will be presented to a female student on merit- cum- means basis in the final exam.This medal is instituted by Prof. K.P.Sankaran Unny, Member, Governing Council in memory of his late mother Mrs. Gowri Amma.
- A cash award of Rs.5000/- is presented to the topper of "Organisational Behaviour" of the I MBA.
